SPONSORS

We would like thank Santee Cooper, and SPAWAR Systems Center- Atlantic for their support of the South Carolina FIRST LEGO League West State Championship.

ACCOMMODATIONS

Due to the expected low number of teams requiring overnight accommodations, we have not made arrangements for discounted rates at nearby hotels. The accommodations listed below are only included because of their proximity to the event venue.

For additional accommodations please refer to this map.

SCHEDULE

Below is the general tournament schedule. Times are subject to change but they should be near the below stated times. Teams will receive a detailed schedule a few days prior to the event.

The Robot Game is free and open to the public. Practice rounds begin at 8:30 am with the official Robot Game rounds beginning at 12:45 pm shortly following the opening ceremonies. The judging portion of the event is closed to the public. In fact, only team members, coaches and the historian will be allowed into the judging section of the tournament. Thank you for respecting this policy. Please remember to respect the team only areas: the competition floor area (the area where teams queue and compete) and the judging area.

FOOD

The official host for this year’s tournament is Riverside High School. The school has also notified us that it will be okay if teams want to bring in outside food, so if teams want to brown bag it, go for it. There are a number food options near the school. Additionally there will be snack food on sale all day. During the lunch hours we’ll have hamburgers, hotdogs, and the like for sale.

Throughout the day we ask that all food stays in the cafeteria only. There should be no food in the pit or the main gym. This will make cleanup simple and straightforward.

The schedule does not incorporate a tournament wide lunch break. Teams are asked to look over the schedule carefully and work in their lunch either just before or immediately following the Opening Ceremony.
